Boston Celtics center Robert Williams is expected to miss four-to-six weeks after undergoing surgery Wednesday for a torn meniscus in his left knee, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The injury will keep Williams sidelined for at least the opening round of the playoffs.
The Texas A&M product was hurt during Sunday's victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Veteran big man Daniel Theis took Williams' place in the Celtics' first five Monday versus the Toronto Raptors.
Williams flourished in a starting role this season. He averaged 10 points, 9.6 boards, two assists, and 2.2 blocks over 61 appearances.
