Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most combined points in the regular season and playoffs.

James recorded his 44,152nd career point on a 3-pointer in the third quarter of the Lakers' road game against the Golden State Warriors.

"Throughout my career, whenever I've been linked with some of the greats I've been in awe," James said, according to Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation.

James, Abdul-Jabbar, and Karl Malone are the only players to score over 40,000 points across regular-season and postseason play.

Including his 26 points on Saturday, James has scored 36,526 of his points in the regular season, with 7,631 coming in 266 playoff games. The 37-year-old is already the NBA's postseason scoring leader but remains third on the regular-season leaderboard.
