The Portland Trail Blazers are trading Norman Powell and Robert Covington to the Los Angeles Clippers, the team announced on Friday.

Portland will receive Eric Bledsoe, Justise Winslow, Keon Johnson, and the Detroit Pistons' 2025 second-round pick in return.

Powell is averaging 18.7 points per game in his first full season in Portland after arriving via a trade with the Toronto Raptors last year. The UCLA product signed a five-year, $90-million contract with the Trail Blazers last offseason.

Covington provides the Clippers with another solid perimeter defender. He averaged 8.1 points, 6.3 boards, 1.5 steals, and 1.2 blocks over parts of two seasons in Portland.

The five-player deal opens up an additional roster spot for the Clippers.

Bledsoe returned to Los Angeles in an offseason trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. The veteran guard registered 9.9 points, 4.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest across 54 appearances during his second stint with the Clippers.

Winslow played sparingly during his brief stint in Los Angeles. The former lottery pick signed a two-year, $8-million contract last summer.

The Clippers acquired Johnson from the New York Knicks in a draft-day deal. The Tennessee product was one of the most athletic players from last year's draft class and is under contract through the 2024-25 campaign.

Portland creates a $6.5-million trade exception and dips below the luxury-tax line, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks, who adds that the Clippers' luxury-tax bill rises $19 million to a total of $112.9 million.
