Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder highly praised Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green ahead of their teams' New Year's Day clash in Salt Lake City.
"I think If you want to put someone in the MVP conversation, he's someone to me," Snyder said Saturday, per ClutchPoints' Mark Haynes. "Maybe the numbers don't match up to some of the numbers that some other guys put up. ... He just does it his way."
Green is averaging 8.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks in 30.6 minutes per game this season for the league-leading 27-7 Warriors.
The 31-year-old isn't even a top-three scorer on his team, but he's averaging the eighth-most assists in the NBA and, of course, is a top defensive presence.
Among qualified players, Green ranks first in defensive box plus-minus and second in defensive win shares, trailing only Jazz center - and fellow Defensive Player of the Year front-runner - Rudy Gobert.
