Houston Rockets head coach Stephen Silas announced Friday that rookie Jalen Green strained his hamstring and will be re-evaluated in one week, according to Mark Berman of Fox 26.

Green sustained the injury late in the first quarter of Wednesday's matchup against the Chicago Bulls. The 6-foot-4 guard landed awkwardly after driving to the basket and exited the game shortly after.

Green, the No. 2 pick in this year's draft, has had an up-and-down start to the season. He ranks third among first-year players in scoring (14 points per game) and eighth in assists (2.3). The 19-year-old is shooting 27.8% from deep and 38.2% overall.

Garrison Brooks and Armoni Brooks could see expanded minutes in Green's absence.

Houston enters Friday's slate of games with a league-worst 2-16 record.
