The Washington Wizards signed third-year big man Daniel Gafford to a three-year, $40.2-million extension, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Washington acquired the 23-year-old from the Chicago Bulls as part of a three-team trade in March.
Gafford averaged 10.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game across 23 appearances with the Wizards down the stretch of the regular season. He shot 22-of-26 (84.6%) in his team's 4-1 series loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs.
