Suns' Bridges agrees to 4-year, $90M rookie extension
The Phoenix Suns and Mikal Bridges agreed to a four-year, $90-million rookie extension, the player's representatives told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Bridges, 25, established himself as one of the league's emerging two-way players last season.
The Villanova product averaged career bests in points (13.5), rebounds (4.3), and assists (2.1) in his third campaign. He started all 94 of the team's regular-season and playoff games, and he played a vital role in Phoenix's first NBA Finals appearance since 1993.
Now all eyes shift once again to DeAndre Ayton, whom the organization is reportedly hesitant to offer a maximum five-year, $172.5-million deal.
Bridges and the Suns open the 2021-22 season when they welcome the Denver Nuggets to the Footprint Center on Oct. 20.
