The Boston Celtics and the recently acquired Josh Richardson have agreed to a one-year extension on his current deal, Richardson's agent told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
With a $12.4-million extension for 2022-23, Richardson will net $24 million over the next two seasons.
The 6-foot-5 shooting guard, who turns 28 in September, exercised his $11.6-million player option for 2021-22 before the Dallas Mavericks traded him to the Celtics in July.
Richardson averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and one steal in just over 30 minutes per game in 2020-21, playing mostly alongside MVP candidate Luka Doncic in his lone season with Dallas.
