Embiid fined for altercation with Collins, Hawks' Fernando suspended
The NBA fined Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid $35,000 for "escalating the on-court altercation" he had with Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins in the fourth quarter of Game 6 on Friday.
Hawks big man Bruno Fernando has been suspended one game without pay for leaving the bench area during the incident.
Fernando will serve his suspension during Game 7 on Sunday.
The league's statement adds Embiid's fine is also due to "failing to comply with an NBA security interview" after the run-in with Collins.
Embiid and Collins were entangled with 4:03 left in Friday's contest after the former was called for an offensive foul. After jawing with each other on the floor, the two rose to their feet before Embiid walked into Collins around the stanchion with his arms spread out wide.

Embiid said after the game he was being pushed from behind during the incident and argued referees weren't calling it "both ways."
