Nuggets' Barton out for 'foreseeable future' with hamstring strain
Denver Nuggets guard Will Barton faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring strain Friday against the Golden State Warriors.
"I don't expect Will will be back in uniform in the foreseeable future," Nuggets head coach Michael Malone said before Saturday's matchup against the Houston Rockets, according to The Denver Post's Mike Singer.
Barton went down in the opening minute against Golden State. The veteran pulled up awkwardly after being cut off on a drive to the basket, appearing to be in pain as he passed the ball. He was escorted to the locker room and didn't return.

Malone described the strain as "pretty significant" but didn't provide a timeline for Barton's return.
The 30-year-old guard tweeted Saturday that he intends to come back before the season ends.

Barton is averaging 12.7 points, four rebounds, 3.2 assists, and shooting 38.1% from distance in 56 games this year.
His injury leaves the Nuggets thin in the backcourt. Star Jamal Murray is out for the season with a torn ACL, and fellow guard Monte Morris is currently out with his own hamstring strain.
