The Los Angeles Clippers intend to sign free-agent center DeMarcus Cousins pending his clearance of the NBA's health and safety protocols, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Cousins is reportedly already in Los Angeles to begin testing protocols.
The Clippers are discussing signing Cousins to a 10-day deal, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The team is reportedly searching for a third center to provide insurance behind Ivica Zubac and Serge Ibaka during the final stretch of the season.
The 30-year-old has been a free agent since being released by the Houston Rockets on Feb. 21. He averaged 9.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 25 games with Houston after missing the entire 2019-20 campaign due to a torn ACL.
