New Orleans Pelicans guard JJ Redick will be out at least one week after undergoing a non-surgical procedure to relieve inflammation and soreness in his right heel, the team announced Thursday.
Redick missed two of the Pelicans' last four contests before the All-Star break. The veteran sharpshooter is averaging 8.7 points per game while shooting a career-low 36.4% from deep over 31 appearances this season. He ranks 14th on the NBA's all-time 3-pointers made list.
Redick is in the final season of a two-year, $26.5-million contract. The Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics have all reportedly expressed interest in acquiring him from New Orleans.
