Durant remains out through All-Star break with hamstring injury

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant will remain sidelined through the All-Star break following the results of an MRI on his left hamstring, the team announced Friday.

Durant, who has missed Brooklyn's last six games, will require "additional recovery," according to the team statement. No timeframe for his return was announced.

The two-time NBA champion has also missed two stretches this season due to the league's health and safety protocols, including a spell in early February after he was pulled during a defeat against the Toronto Raptors.

Durant was named an All-Star Game starter and chosen as team captain for next weekend's festivities in Atlanta, his 11th selection for the midseason exhibition.

Indiana Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis was selected to replace Durant on the Eastern Conference's All-Star team, while Boston Celtics wing Jayson Tatum will take Durant's place in the starting lineup.
