Draymond: 'I was dead-ass wrong' for late ejection vs. Hornets

Draymond Green offered a mea culpa for his late-game blowup that might have cost the Golden State Warriors a road win against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday.

"I was dead-ass wrong," Green said Monday, according to The Athletic's Anthony Slater. "Not that I was wrong for the first tech ... but once I got the first tech, I can't get the second tech.

"I was a bit disappointed. I'm still a bit disappointed in myself."

With the Warriors up two points with just under 10 seconds left in the game, Green became incensed after the referees ruled Hornets forward PJ Washington called for a timeout while teammate Gordon Hayward controlled possession of the ball just prior to Green contesting possession. The on-court ruling was confirmed by Sunday's last-two-minute report.

Green received two quick technical fouls - one for directing profane taunts at an opponent and a second for screaming profanity at a game official - triggering his automatic ejection.

Hornets guard Terry Rozier connected on both technical foul shots to tie the contest, then scored the game-winning bucket moments later, sealing the Warriors' 102-100 defeat.

"I told my teammates I appreciate the support. But my action doesn't warrant support," Green said, according to The Athletic's Marcus Thompson, adding that such incidents shouldn't be occurring at age 30.
