Mario Hezonja signed with Greek side Panathinaikos BC for the remainder of the season, the team announced Monday.
FC Barcelona had the option to match the 25-year-old's offer but declined to do so. Hezonja previously played for the Spanish side before joining the NBA.
The Orlando Magic selected the 6-foot-8 Croatian forward with the fifth overall pick in the 2015 draft. He enjoyed his best season in 2017-18, averaging 9.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game with 33.7% shooting on 3-pointers.
Hezonja played for the Portland Trail Blazers in 2019-20 after a season with the New York Knicks. Portland traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies in the offseason, and the team waived him on Dec. 11.
