Pacers' LeVert out indefinitely after small mass found on kidney

Indiana Pacers guard Caris LeVert is out indefinitely after a small mass was found on his left kidney during his physical to complete his acquisition from the Brooklyn Nets, the Pacers announced Saturday.

"On behalf of my family and myself, we want to thank the Indiana Pacers for their support and guidance," LeVert said in a statement through his new team. "We are grateful for their extreme thoroughness during the physical process, and I am looking forward to joining the team and being part of this great organization as soon as possible."

The four-team trade that saw the Pacers send Victor Oladipo to the Houston Rockets while James Harden left Houston for Brooklyn was completed earlier Saturday.

LeVert's physical reportedly caused a delay in finalizing the deal, and Indiana is apparently receiving additional cash and a 2024 second-round pick originally bound for Brooklyn from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Selected 20th overall by the Pacers in 2016 and immediately dealt to Brooklyn, LeVert was the longest-tenured active Nets player at the time of this week's trade. The 26-year-old has averaged 18.7 points, 5.8 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game while 36% shooting on 3-pointers since the start of last season.
