Pacers finally get LeVert in Harden trade after physical reveals kidney mass

The Indiana Pacers announced Saturday they have officially acquired Caris LeVert from the Brooklyn Nets, completing the four-team trade also involving the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers that was centered around James Harden.

Indiana later announced that an MRI during LeVert's physical discovered a small mass on his left kidney, which is why there was a delay in finalizing the trade. He'll be out indefinitely and will undergo further testing.

To complete the swap, Indiana is acquiring cash plus a 2024 second-round pick from the Cavaliers that was originally going to Brooklyn, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported.

The Pacers are still getting another future second-rounder from the Rockets while sending Victor Oladipo back the other way.

"Caris is a high-quality person who will fit in with what we as an organization are doing, on and off the floor," Pacers president Kevin Pritchard said in a statement. "He's a versatile young talent who we think will be a great fit with the direction our team is taking. He can play multiple positions and affect the game at both ends of the floor."

With all components of the blockbuster deal finalized, Harden is making his debut for the Nets. He started Saturday's contest against the Orlando Magic.
