Report: NBA investigating failed Bucks-Kings Bogdanovic trade

The NBA league office launched an investigation into the failed sign-and-trade involving the Sacramento Kings sending shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic to the Milwaukee Bucks, sources told The New York Times' Marc Stein.

The deal, which would have reportedly sent the Serbian sharpshooter to the Bucks in exchange for Donte DiVincenzo, Ersan Ilyasova, and DJ Wilson, fell through Wednesday because the teams neglected to have Bogdanovic agree to his new contract's terms.

Now, with Ilyasova reportedly being waived on Thursday before his contract for 2020-21 became guaranteed, the deal, as initially reported, is unmanageable.

Bogdanovic now reportedly intends to become a restricted free agent when free agency begins Friday at 6 p.m. ET. The move gives any team a chance to tender him an offer sheet, which the Kings have the right to match.
