LeBron James was hoping for a bit more rest after winning his fourth title.

With the NBA season now on track to start Dec. 22 following approval from the National Basketball Players Association's team representatives late Thursday, James took to Instagram on Friday to express his displeasure with one emoji.

The historically short turnaround would affect James and his Lakers teammates the most, along with their NBA Finals opponents on the Miami Heat.

The Lakers won Game 6 against the Heat to clinch the title on Oct. 11, and players on both sides will potentially get just 71 full days to prepare for a new 72-game campaign. That break would be the shortest offseason in the history of all four major North American professional sports leagues, according to ESPN, citing the Elias Sports Bureau.

Meanwhile, the teams that didn't qualify for the NBA's restart in the bubble will have been resting for an unprecedented nine months.

Lakers shooting guard Danny Green said in October he believes some of his teammates, including James, may sit out the first month of the season if it begins in December.
