Hornets select Vernon Carey with No. 32 pick

With the No. 32 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets have selected Duke center Vernon Carey Jr.
The big man was one of the nation's most productive freshmen, averaging 17.8 points, 8.8 boards, and 1.6 blocks across 31 appearances last season. He shot an ACC-leading 57.7% from the field and ranked third in the NCAA with a 34.1 player efficiency rating.
Carey became the third consecutive Blue Devils player to win the conference's Rookie of the Year award. He also earned a spot on the All-ACC first team.
