Ex-Philadelphia 76ers GM Sam Hinkie goes way back with former Houston Rockets executive Daryl Morey, who is reportedly finalizing a five-year deal to become the Sixers' new president of basketball operations.

The two worked in the Rockets front office from 2007-2013 with Morey serving as GM and Hinkie rising up the ranks to executive vice president.

However, Hinkie squashed any chance of a reunion in the City of Brotherly Love and has no intention of working in the NBA again.

"Zero (percent). I've turned that chapter for sure," Hinkie told Pablo Torre Friday on "ESPN Daily."

Hinkie resigned as the Sixers GM in April 2016, registering an NBA-worst 47-195 record during his three-year tenure. The 42-year-old notably traded multiple key veteran players in exchange for draft picks, which led many to believe he was purposely positioning the club to tank.

Hinkie has since exited sports and started a venture capital firm, though the Sixers still hold a special place in his heart and he's excited to see what his former colleague Morey can do.

"I was stoked," said Hinkie. "I'm stoked now. I think it's great news. He's not a good hire, he's a great hire. It's a really big move for the franchise, for a franchise I care a lot about with a bunch of people I care a lot about. I just think it portends really great things for the future, for the Sixers, which remains to this day meaningful to me. And so I'm stoked."
