Jason Kidd is eager to become the Philadelphia 76ers' next bench boss, sources told The Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey.
Kidd, who is currently a Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach under Frank Vogel, previously served as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks after retiring from playing in 2013. He possesses a career coaching record of 183-190.
The Nets and New York Knicks were previous potential head coaching landing spots for The Hall of Fame point guard. New York has since hired Tom Thibodeau to be its next bench boss, while Brooklyn still has a head coaching vacancy.
Philadelphia fired Brett Brown as its head coach on Monday after seven seasons at the helm.
Houston Rockets player development coach John Lucas is also interested in becoming the 76ers' next head coach, Pompey reports. Lucas went 42-122 in his first stint as Philadelphia's bench boss from 1994-96.
