The reigning MVP will sit out of the Bucks' final seeding game Thursday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Antetokounmpo was assessed a flagrant-2 foul and ejected in the second quarter of Tuesday's contest for the infraction. The 25-year-old apologized postgame for his actions and said he doesn't have any ill will toward Wagner.
"I don't think I was frustrated with Wagner," Antetokounmpo said. "I think it was just the whole buildup of dirty plays in my mind. You know, guys tripping me and guys falling in front of my feet, holding me, hitting me, and all that. But I have nothing against Wagner, it wasn't just him.
"It was just like, you know, in my mind all these games I've played, guys hitting me, so I lost it for a second. And as I said, if I could go back, I would have changed it and try to stay in the game. But I got to live with it. Bad mistake by me. Learn from it."
Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.8 points, 12.2 boards, 4.2 assists, and 1.3 blocks across six appearances in the league's restart.
