Paul George and Damian Lillard appear to have moved on from their brief feud.
The Los Angeles Clippers forward reached out to the Portland Trail Blazers guard to "clear the air" after the pair exchanged jabs on social media following Saturday's game between the two teams, TNT's Chris Haynes reports.
George emphasized he didn't have any issues with Lillard and was partaking in competitive banter. Lillard, who apologized for a comment made by his family member after the disagreement escalated, went on to clarify the motivation behind his postgame comments, according to Haynes.
The feud was sparked after Patrick Beverley led the Clippers bench in mocking Lillard after a pair of missed free throws that would've put the Trail Blazers ahead late in an eventual 122-117 loss.
Lillard then fired back during his postgame media availability, reminding Beverley and George how he eliminated each of their teams from the playoffs in recent years.
The Trail Blazers star responded with a pair of sensational performances since the feud started, becoming the first player in franchise history to register back-to-back 50-point games.
The Clippers and Trail Blazers aren't scheduled to meet again. However, the teams could potentially face off in the conference finals if Portland qualifies for the postseason as the Western Conference's eighth seed following a play-in tournament.
