The Toronto Raptors have officially taken the first step in preparing for the resumption of the 2019-20 NBA campaign.

Select players and staff will fly to Florida from Toronto on Monday and the club plans to remain in the Fort Myers area until entering the campus environment at Walt Disney World in early July, the team announced Monday.

No group workouts will take place before the Raptors enter the campus. Access to the team hotel and voluntary individual workout facilities will be limited to essential team personnel.

Toronto is the only NBA franchise that will travel directly to Florida before Phase 4A of the return-to-play schedule. The Canada-United States border is closed for non-essential travel until at least July 21.

The Raptors will practice at Florida Gulf Coast University's Alico Arena until joining the other 21 competing teams in Orlando.

All clubs participating in the league's restart will begin undergoing testing for the COVID-19 virus on Tuesday.
