Chicago Bulls ownership appears to have honed in on Arturas Karnisovas as the organization's next lead basketball executive.

Karnisovas, who currently serves as the Denver Nuggets' general manager, is "the leader in the clubhouse" among the Bulls' desired candidates, Yahoo Sports' Vincent Goodwill reports.

The organization is particularly intrigued by Karnisovas' successful track record when it comes to drafting and player development.

Karnisovas, who played overseas for over a decade, selected Nikola Jokic with the 41st overall pick in 2014. The Serbian has since developed into an All-NBA big man and the Nuggets' top talent.

Indiana Pacers general manager Chad Buchanan and Miami Heat vice president of basketball operations Adam Simon reportedly denied interviews with the Bulls. Chicago was able to speak with Utah Jazz general manager Justin Zanik, but Goodwill adds that it appears likely Utah will retain him.
