Former No. 2 overall pick Darko Milicic responded with a humble message after his NBA draft classmates Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade joked about not knowing who he is.

Wade, who was picked fifth overall in 2003, mentioned Milicic while discussing the draft class during a recent Instagram Live session. Anthony, who was selected one spot behind Milicic at No. 3, replied with, "Who?"

Milicic then addressed the comments in an interview with Serbian media.

"As for these stories, so if my story is not told, thank God (Wade and Anthony) have succeeded - I have not," Milicic said, according to Google Translate. "We are not kids, we are adults, I hope you are ripe to understand that life is full of ups and downs. ... It is not necessary to judge and ridicule when, thank God, you have not passed the path that I am. To them, as always, I wish everyone good and every honor on their careers and in further life a lot of success and less condemnation."

Milicic played 10 seasons in the NBA, appearing in 468 games for six teams. He made his return to professional basketball in Serbia in 2019 following a seven-year retirement.

The 2003 NBA Draft also saw LeBron James selected first overall and Chris Bosh picked fourth.
