Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach and Hall of Famer Jason Kidd believes LeBron James' IQ will be the key to extending his career.

Kidd was one of several people Melissa Rohlin of Sports Illustrated interviewed as part of a feature on James' IQ and photographic memory, and he said the Lakers star will be playing for at least another five years thanks to his elite mind.

"It's going to help him play until he's 40," Kidd said. "... His IQ is always going to help him because he's going to be able to take less steps, right? Instead of running a six-mile race, he can run a five-mile race just because of his IQ."

James said earlier this season he plans to continue playing as long as the veteran feels good physically and is mentally sharp, stressing he's "not at the end of (his) story."
