Toronto Raptors guard Norman Powell suffered a left ankle sprain early in the first quarter versus the Utah Jazz during a collision with teammate OG Anunoby and will not return, the team announced.
Powell and Anunoby collided in the air underneath Utah's basket, and Powell's ankle turned as he fell back to the ground. He had to be helped to the locker room.
The 26-year-old, who has dealt with a variety of injuries this season, was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week earlier Monday.
Powell entered Monday's contest averaging a career-best 16.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 50.3% from the field.
