Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley will be re-evaluated in three weeks after aggravating a mid-foot sprain originally suffered in December, the team announced Thursday.

The injury has already sidelined Bagley for eight games. He also missed 22 contests earlier this campaign after fracturing his right thumb in the Kings' season opener.

Sacramento selected Bagley second overall in last year's draft. He averaged 14.9 points and 7.6 boards during his first NBA season en route to earning All-Rookie first-team honors. Bagley has posted similar numbers across 13 appearances in 2019-20.

Meanwhile, the Kings are hopeful fellow big man Richaun Holmes will return to action next week. The 26-year-old has missed Sacramento's last 10 games with a right shoulder injury.

Holmes was flourishing in a starting role, averaging career highs in points (13.1) and rebounds (8.5) across 37 appearances this season.
