Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry had a chance to speak with Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan with their clubs taking part in the first NBA regular-season game in France last week.

With the Bucks off to a league-best 41-6 start, Lasry made it no secret that he wants his team to gun for a championship and the 72-win mark posted by Jordan's Chicago Bulls during the 1995-96 campaign.

"Everybody wants to be recognized for being unique and different," Lasry said Tuesday, according to ESPN's Eric Woodyard. "I mean, all these players. When I was in Paris, I was talking to Michael about this and I said, 'Well, what do you think? I think we've got a real shot at doing what you guys have done (win 70 games). This is a really unique team.'

"And he goes, 'Look, my advice to you is don't focus on beating our record, focus on winning a championship.' And I said, 'Wow, that's great. Thank you for that. Just so you know we're going to focus on beating your record and winning a championship.' I think we should do everything, but that's me."

Milwaukee would become the third team in NBA history to win 70 or more games. The Golden State Warriors set the all-time mark of 73 during the 2015-16 season, but they infamously blew a 3-1 lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

Led by reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks are eight games clear for the East's top seed. Milwaukee also ranks first in defensive rating and net rating.
