The injury bug continues to bite the Toronto Raptors.
Head coach Nick Nurse said Tuesday that point guard Fred VanVleet could be set for a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, though it will be "a little while before we know more" regarding a more specific timeline, according to Sportsnet's Eric Smith.
VanVleet appeared to suffer the ailment late in Saturday's 121-102 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. He left the court suddenly and headed straight to the locker room with just over two minutes remaining in the contest. VanVleet was officially listed as out for Tuesday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a right hamstring strain.
It could be the second lengthy injury absence for the 25-year-old this season. He also missed five consecutive games in December due to a knee contusion.
The Raptors are already without forward Pascal Siakam, center Marc Gasol, and shooting guard Norman Powell due to injury. Their starting five Tuesday - Kyle Lowry, Patrick McCaw, OG Anunoby, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, and Serge Ibaka - will be their seventh different starting lineup this season in 37 games, courtesy of Basketball Reference.
