Blake Griffin will make his season debut for the Detroit Pistons on Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves after missing the opening 10 games of the 2019-20 campaign, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Griffin's season debut comes on the first night of a Pistons back-to-back set that concludes Tuesday against the Heat in Miami.
The Pistons cleared Griffin, who has been dealing with hamstring and knee injuries, to resume basketball activities Thursday. The six-time All-Star underwent arthroscopic surgery this past April to address knee soreness that emerged during the final two weeks of the 2018-19 season.
Markieff Morris, who's started at power forward for Detroit in Griffin's absence, is expected to move into a reserve role upon the latter's return.
Griffin averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in 75 regular-season contests with the Pistons in 2018-19.
The 30-year-old power forward is in the third season of a five-year, $173-million contract originally signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers sent Griffin to Detroit as the headliner in a blockbuster deal ahead of the 2018 trade deadline.
