LeBron James and Luka Doncic each made NBA history with their triple-double efforts during Friday's overtime thriller between the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks.
James posted 39 points, 16 assists, and 12 rebounds to join Russell Westbrook and Oscar Robertson as the only players to record at least 30 30-point triple-doubles, according to ESPN Stats & Info. He also became the first Lakers player with 30 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds in a game since Magic Johnson in 1990.
James sits fifth all time with 82 career triple-doubles.
Meanwhile, Doncic finished with 31 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds for his NBA record-extending 10th triple-double before turning 21.
Before Friday's affair, no pair of opposing players had posted a 15-assist triple-double in the same game in NBA history, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
The Lakers eventually prevailed 119-110 after the extra frame.
