However, with the last year of his pact only partially guaranteed, Tucker is seeking a deal to stay in Houston long term.
"It’s time for my extension right now, so we’ll see," Tucker told The Athletic's Kelly Iko. "We’ll see what happens. I’m optimistic, we’ll see."
Tucker has been a key member of the Rockets over the past two seasons, averaging 6.7 points, 5.7 boards, and 1.3 steals per contest across 164 appearances.
The 34-year-old has started 116 games over that same span and is a reliable 3-point threat - particularly from the corner where he made an NBA-high 109 triples last season.
Tucker is also one of the team's most versatile defenders and has seen some time at the five in small-ball lineups.
The 34-year-old was one of three Rockets invited to USA Basketball's training camp for the FIBA World Cup, but had to withdraw after sustaining a minor left ankle sprain in practice last week.
