Isaiah Roby has made NBA history before suiting up for his first regular-season game.
The 45th overall pick in this year's draft has signed a four-year, $6.7-million deal with the Dallas Mavericks, his agent told ESPN's Bobby Marks.
Roby's $1.5-million cap hit for his rookie season is the largest salary in NBA history for a second-round pick out of college, according to Marks.
The second year in his contract is fully guaranteed with an early-July trigger date in Year 3 and a team option for the fourth season, Marks reports.
Roby averaged 8.8 points, 5.2 boards, and 1.2 blocks per contest across five summer league appearances for Dallas.
He was one of the bright spots on a Nebraska squad that finished second-last in the Big Ten standings last season. Roby was the Cornhuskers' leading rebounder (6.9) and shot-blocker (1.9) this past campaign.
The 6-foot-9 power forward was one of the premier rim-protectors in the conference, as he averaged the third-most swats per contest in Big Ten play in each of the last two seasons.
