Recent New York Knicks signee Reggie Bullock underwent surgery for a cervical disc herniation, the team announced Wednesday.

The team plans to update his recovery timeline close to the start of training camp.

Bullock initially agreed to a reported two-year, $21-million contract with the Knicks before an unforeseen medical issue brought both sides back to the bargaining table earlier in July. The 28-year-old wing eventually signed a two-year deal worth less than $4.7 million in the first season, according to SNY's Ian Begley.

Since emerging as a legitimate rotation piece two seasons ago, Bullock has averaged 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in just under 29 minutes per game while shooting 40.5 percent on 3-point looks.
