Kyrie Irving will meet with the Brooklyn Nets at the start of free agency Sunday with both sides looking to reach an agreement on a four-year, $141-million max contract, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

If the 27-year-old commits to Brooklyn, the Nets are expected to renounce their rights to D'Angelo Russell, making him an unrestricted free agent, sources told Wojnarowski. They could also facilitate a sign-and-trade deal involving Russell while still holding his rights.

The news follows reports that Kemba Walker will commit to a max deal with the Boston Celtics on Sunday and also raises questions about Kevin Durant's future. Durant reportedly plans to meet with the Nets, while other reports suggested Brooklyn was internally debating the merits of signing Irving without Durant.

Russell, who remains a restricted free agent as of Saturday, has apparently drawn interest from the Minnesota Timberwolves, while Wojnarowski reports the Los Angeles Lakers have reached out to the 23-year-old's agents to set up a meeting.
