The Houston Rockets are offering Clint Capela, Eric Gordon, and P.J. Tucker in individual trades to teams with cap space, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe.
In exchange, Houston is looking for the best available first-round pick in hopes of redirecting it to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a sign-and-trade for free agent Jimmy Butler, Wojnarowski added.
Due the Rockets' salary cap situation, a sign-and-trade is the only way the team can land Butler. The Rockets don't have a max slot available to sign him outright.
Capela and Gordon are set to earn $14 million apiece next season, while Tucker is on the books for $8.3 million.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia reportedly plans to be aggressive in its attempt to retain Butler. The Sixers can offer him a five-year, $190-million max deal.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has also reportedly been in contact with Butler.
The Houston native averaged 18.2 points on 46.1 percent shooting following his in-season acquisition from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
