Report: Suns make Oubre an RFA with qualifying offer
The Phoenix Suns reportedly extended a qualifying offer to Kelly Oubre Jr., league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Despite becoming a restricted free agent, Oubre is still expected to receive significant interest, specifically from teams with plenty of cap space that fail to land unrestricted free-agent stars, Wojnarowski adds.
Oubre's qualifying offer is rated at $4.9 million for next season. However, Phoenix now has the right to match any offers made to him this summer.
The Washington Wizards traded Oubre and Austin Rivers to the Suns in December in exchange for Trevor Ariza. Oubre excelled in his new setting, averaging 16.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in 40 games in Phoenix before his season was cut short in March due to a thumb injury.
