The Minnesota Timberwolves have extended a qualifying offer to point guard Tyus Jones, thereby making him a restricted free agent, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
A qualifying offer allows Minnesota to match any team's offer to Jones this summer. Jones will earn at least $3.57 million next season due to the qualifying offer, according to Spotrac.
The 23-year-old is coming off his fourth NBA campaign. He averaged 6.9 points, 4.8 assists, and two rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game - all career-highs - this past season.
