L2M report: Refs missed shooting foul against Warriors in final minute
The Golden State Warriors got away with a crucial foul at the end of Game 5, according to the last-two-minute report the NBA released Tuesday.
Trailing 106-103 with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter, Toronto Raptors center Marc Gasol rolled to the hoop for a layup. That's when Warriors big man DeMarcus Cousins should have been called for a shooting foul, the league has since determined.
The referees didn't make a call. Instead of Gasol shooting a pair of free throws with a chance to cut the deficit to one with 49 seconds left, Cousins corralled the defensive rebound and the game continued.
The Raptors scored on their next possession, but they were unable to muster any further scoring, and the game ended in a 106-105 Warriors win.
There were no other incorrect or missed calls during the final two minutes when the score was within three points, according to the league.
