Report: Davis focused on Lakers, Knicks as preferred destinations

Anthony Davis has narrowed his list of preferred destinations down from four teams to two.

The New Orleans Pelicans superstar is reportedly focused on both the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks as his desired long-term destinations, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

It was reported in the days leading up to the trade deadline that Davis had informed the Pelicans' front office he'd be willing to sign with the Lakers, Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Clippers.

New Orleans has reportedly provided a framework for potential trades, including multi-team deals, to those inquiring about Davis' services.

The Lakers, Knicks, Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics have all expressed interest in the six-time All-Star, according to Charania, with the Lakers reportedly the "leader in the clubhouse" to land him, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Davis averaged 25.9 points on 51.7 percent shooting, 12 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.4 blocks across 56 appearances this past season for the 33-49 Pelicans.

He remains under contract through the 2019-20 campaign at just over $27 million before he's eligible to opt out of his player option the following year.
