Report: Pelicans open to multi-team trade involving Davis

The New Orleans Pelicans have begun providing potential Anthony Davis suitors with the framework for a possible trade, including multi-team scenarios, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

All of the Los Angeles and New York franchises - the Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, and Nets - have inquired about Davis.

This news seems to indicate that new Pelicans president David Griffin couldn't convince Davis to play out the final year of his contract in New Orleans. The two sides reportedly met late last month to discuss Davis' trade request.

The Lakers were involved in Davis trade talks over the winter. With about $40 million in salary coming off their books on July 1, they would likely need to involve a third team in any deal.
