Neighboring Toronto cities opening their own 'Jurassic Park' for Finals
Raptors fans around the Greater Toronto Area won't have to trek to Scotiabank Arena to watch the NBA Finals at Jurassic Park.
According to CBC News, the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, both in the neighboring Peel region, received permission from Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to establish their own temporary outdoor viewing areas for the NBA Finals. Mississauga's location will be dubbed "Jurassic Park West," while Brampton will have "Jurassic Square."
Kitchener, which sits further out west from Toronto's core, will also be hosting its own miniature Jurassic Park at a downtown bar, according to Namish Modi of the Kitchener Post.
The Raptors first introduced viewing parties in Maple Leaf Square - the setting just outside Scotiabank Arena's front doors - during the 2013-14 postseason and it quickly began to be colloquially known as Jurassic Park.
