The Dallas Mavericks are investigating after a video surfaced on Sunday showing a bloody Kristaps Porzingis following an apparent altercation in Europe, Stadium's Shams Charania reports.

According to Charania, the Mavericks' understanding is that Porzingis was assaulted at a club and hit with objects.

Sources told ESPN's Tim MacMahon that Porzingis was fighting back against his attackers before club security intervened, and he didn't suffer serious injuries. A team source told the Dallas Morning News' Brad Townsend that Porzingis was "sucker punched" in the altercation.

The New York Knicks traded Porzingis to the Mavericks in late January, but he has yet to appear in a game for the Texas franchise while rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered last season.

The 23-year-old is also reportedly the subject of an NYPD investigation after a woman told police Porzingis raped her in his hotel room in February 2018. The All-Star denied the allegations through his lawyer.
