Dwyane Wade has played his way into the conversation for the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award, but as far as the Miami Heat veteran is concerned, the hardware has already been locked up by someone else.

When asked Monday whether he was chasing the award, Wade responded by endorsing Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams.

Williams leads all second-unit scorers with 20.3 points per game across 68 appearances for the 44-30 Clippers, who currently sit fifth in the Western Conference.

He took home the hardware last year and would become just the third player in history to be named Sixth Man of the Year in consecutive seasons (Kevin McHale and Detlef Schrempf) and just the second three-time winner (Jamal Crawford) if he captures the award again after this campaign.

Wade, meanwhile, is averaging a team-high 17 points over the last five games for Miami to go along with 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 0.8 steals on nearly 50 percent shooting from the field, and the Heat are 4-1 during that span.
