Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart has been fined $50,000 for shoving Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Joel Embiid to the floor during Wednesday's 118-115 road loss at Wells Fargo Center.

The league stated Thursday that the hefty penalty is a result of Smart's repeated acts of unsportsmanlike behavior. This incident marks the third time this season the 25-year-old has been fined for his misconduct.

Smart received a flagrant-2 foul and was ejected at the 7:06 mark of the third quarter.

Smart was fined $25,000 in October for escalating an on-court altercation and ultimately pushing Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith in the back. He was fined another $35,000 in January for aggressively pursuing an opponent and failing to leave the court in a timely manner after being ejected from a game against the Atlanta Hawks.
