Raps rename practice facility OVO Athletic Centre, give key to Drake

Just when you thought the Toronto Raptors' relationship with performing artist Drake couldn't get any Drakier, they go ahead and do something that surpasses all previous benchmarks for Drakiness.

The Raptors have renamed their practice facility the OVO Athletic Centre, the branding of Drake's ever-expanding October's Very Own business empire, which includes a clothing line and record label.

The building opened in 2016 as the BioSteel Centre and has been known simply as the Toronto Raptors Training Centre since 2018.

It's far from the first collaboration between the franchise and the Toronto-born musician, who joined the organization in an official capacity as a global ambassador in September 2013.

For the past several seasons, the Raptors have incorporated black and gold into both their alternate jerseys and special court designs, which mirror the OVO colorway and have often coincided with Drake-themed home games.

Last January, the Raptors and OVO pledged a significant financial contribution to help refurbish local community basketball courts.

Naturally, the finished products have featured black and gold motifs.
