Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James overtook Michael Jordan's career tally of 32,292 points with his 13th point Wednesday, and the King's latest achievement received some special plaudits from the man he surpassed.
"I want to congratulate LeBron on achieving another great milestone during his amazing career," Jordan said in a statement, according to the Washington Post's Ben Golliver.
James would go on to score 31 in the 115-99 defeat to the Denver Nuggets, taking him up to 32,311 for his career.
In order to crack the league's all-time scoring podium, the 34-year-old will have to supplant a Lakers icon. Kobe Bryant scored 33,643 points over his 20-year career, leaving James 1,332 points behind.
